Dear Ken, Thank you for writing. You put things into perspective in your eloquent Canadian way. Very well stated. I really like Howard Dean also. I am just waiting for the GOPigs to get out on the airwaves and try to smear him as they did to Senator John McCain, Senator Max Cleland and the countless Americans who disagree with the Bushies. HISTORY September 11, 1973 -- Allende dies in coup ...Chile's armed forces stage a coup d'état against the
government of President Salvador Allende, the first democratically elected
Marxist leader in Latin America. Allende retreated with his supporters to La
Moneda, the fortress-like presidential palace in Santiago, which was
surrounded by tanks and infantry and bombed by air force jets. Allende
survived the aerial attack but then apparently shot himself to death as
troops stormed the burning palace, reportedly using an automatic rifle given
to him as a gift by Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. |

Hurricane Isabel is seen in the Atlantic in this September 10, 2003 satellite image. The powerful hurricane remained a Category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale early September 11, packing winds near 145 miles per hour as it continued to move westward, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami. A 5-day forecast track shows the eye of Isabel veering just to the east of the Bahamas through early Tuesday.
Peace.
