Conservatives taken aback by Palin's decision to resign

CNN - 7-6-09

Astounding. Risky. Quitter. And that's what fellow conservatives had to say Sunday about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her decision to step down with 18 months left in her term.

McCain says Palin to play leadership role as ex-Governor

Reuters 7-6-09

Republican Senator John McCain expressed support for his former presidential running mate, Sarah Palin, on Saturday as Washington speculated about why the Alaska governor abruptly announced her resignation.

Now, Sarah’s Folly

New York Times - 7-4-09

Sarah Palin showed on Friday that in one respect at least, she is qualified to be president.
Caribou Barbie is one nutty puppy.

I've listened to Sarah Palin's resignation speech three times and I'm still not sure why she quit.

“I think Sarah Palin is on the verge of becoming the Miami Vice of American politics: Something a lot of people once thought was cool and then 20 years later look back, shake their heads and just kind of laugh,” quipped Republican media consultant Todd Harris

Subject: What do Joe Scarborough's resignation and Sarah Palin's resignation have in common?

I just heard Joe Scarborough say this morning he quit Congress because of his 14 year old son at the time. He said the kid's doctor told him to quit.  And said his son hates Facebook, Twitter, the Internet, etc....What's that all about?

Jimbo - Georgia

Oh, really? I wonder if his son heard his father blame him for quitting Congress? That would surely build his self esteem.

I wonder if his older boy was upset because Joe divorced his Mom and quickly remarried all the while running for a fourth term in Congress.

No wonder his son hates the Internet, just Google Joe Scarborough and it's not a pretty sight.

Joe cited family reasons for quitting Congress. Yet he began his cable show at MSNBC less than two years after resigning. I guess his boys must have been okey dokey at that point.

Well, Joe's name isn't exactly sterling in NW Florida politics. In 2007 he ran his brother's campaign, George, for his old Congressional seat. George couldn't even win the Republican primary.

As far as your question: What do Joe Scarborough's resignation and Sarah Palin's resignation have in common? They both blamed someone else for quitting the "public servant" jobs they were elected to do.

Uh Oh, I Wonder If I'll Get A Cease and Desist Letter From Sarah Palin? I Treasure Mine From Joe Scarborough!

Gov. Sarah Palin's personal attorney issued a statement Saturday denouncing rumors that Palin resigned because she is under criminal investigation and threatening legal action for publishing "defamatory" material about the governor.

FBI Clears Sarah Palin

The FBI, in a rare response to rampant rumors on the Internet, said it is not investigating Alaska Gov. Sara Palin on public corruption charges.

"Normally, we don't confirm or deny those kind of allegations out there. But, by not doing so, it just casts her in a very bad light," said FBI Special Agent Eric Gonzalez

The media’s mean, so I quit:
(That’s the message that Palin has writ.)

I’m betting she runs against Mitt.
