Syria Bans Nigab

forbidden the country's students and teachers from wearing the niqab — the full
Islamic veil that reveals only a woman's eyes — taking aim at a garment many see

Dengue In Costa Rica
Dengue's
porters, the Aedes aegypti mosquito, have caused a 408 percent surge in Latin
American cases during first six months of 2010 over the same period last year.
In Costa Rica, 10,788 cases have been reported from January-June, nearly 4,000
more than all of 2009....Few Costa Rican regions have seen an outbreak like
Santa Cruz on the Nicoya Peninsula in the northwestern Guanacaste province. The
sparsely populated area has already
reported more than 2,000 cases,
prompting the cancellation of next weekend's Annexation Day festivities ..
I was in Santa Cruz Friday night. I was eaten alive by

Pakistani censors have
banned an Indian comedy film
featuring a lookalike of al Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden, the film's
distributor said on Wednesday.
The ban had been anticipated on grounds that Islamist extremists could use it as
a pretext for attacks.
