Lisa,

While I appreciate your website and check it daily for stuff to use against Bush and his gang, I do not share the objective of electing John Kerry or anyone else who defends the US and it's system of exploitation, war and empire. In other words, the real "terrorist war" is being waged by the gang that rules the US through both political parties.

So, the underlying problem is not one of "rogue" elements committing "abuses" in the US war and occupation of Iraq, since I consider the war and occupation of Iraq to be a war crime in and of itself.

Sure, the persons responsible for torture and humiliation ought to be punished, not with reprimands but with imprisonment. But Bush and people like Kerry who support the War OF Terror of the US government are the real criminals.

For what it's worth:

1) Early warnings that "Al Qaeda terrorists" were learning to fly little Cessnas
2) Early warnings that included "chatter" about sums of money coming
into this country from anti-American jihadist sympathizers
3) Early warnings from German and Israeli intelligence that jihadist terrorists
were planning a sabotage 'attack" in the continental US

Did the Bushites IGNORE these early warnings?
Not at all. What the Bush administration realized was that this sorry rag-tag Mickey Mouse outfit of pathetic suicide bombers would NEVER have the clout or ability to pull off a "Pearl Harbor" type scenario. Certainly, not with enough "shock & awe" for justifying an American retaliation in Afghanistan (to secure an oil pipeline from Turkmenistan to the refinery at Pakistan).
Nor with enough horror to justify an American attack in Iraq (and take-over of the Iraqi oil reserves).

Nope. If the job of murdering 3,000 people was going to be done right, it would have to be done with good old American expertise, hardware, smoke and mirrors. But, with the right kind of spin in the media, "Al Qaeda" would become the the fall guys. The patsies. There you have it ... your "government" in action.
