Groups Critical of Islam Are Waiting to Aid Iraq
By LAURIE GOODSTEIN - NYTIMES 4-5-03
Two evangelical Christian organizations whose leaders have
outspokenly denounced the Islamic faith are among the aid groups waiting at
Iraq's borders to take humanitarian relief — and a Gospel message — to a
nation whose people are predominantly Muslim.
The situation presents a dilemma for the Bush administration, which does
not want to alienate its strong Christian evangelical constituency but
cannot afford to have the war in Iraq perceived as a crusade to Christianize
a Muslim nation.

Today's cartoon was inspired by the hatred the unrighteous right has for
liberals and Democrats ( liberal or not). The vitriolic pap that is
spread on the airwaves made me wonder that if there was a shortage of blood,
I'd bet the ranch it would be given to "compassionate conservatives" first.

SUBJECT: The American Military Man
Greetings,
Many of us are opposed to the War in Iraq. My opposition is focused on those who
got us there and not against those who are now squarely in harm's way. We may
not respect the powers that be, but we should respect those that are wearing the
uniform.
Attached are a few pictures of life in the field. The word "Spartan" comes to
mind.
Regards,
Dave Galloway
Thanks Dave. I posted the piece below.

The American Military
Man

The average age of the military man is 19 years.
He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is
considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears,
not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country.

Quotes of the Day
| "The big debate right now is if Saddam is alive
or dead. He's dead, then he's alive, then dead, then alive. It's just
confusing. Today they showed videotape, and Saddam was speaking at his own
funeral." —David Letterman |
"There was a time in America when the guy with the most
votes won. But they couldn't rape the Middle East without the army's help so
Puppetboy had to steal the White House to make this possible. I'm glad you
enjoy Bush's war and recession more than Clinton's peace and prosperity." -
